STATCOM OLHSA

Motivation

OLHSA conducts surveys to assess community needs in its areas of jurisdiction: Oakland and Livingston counties in Michigan. STATCOM has previously partnered with OLHSA to provide visualization and tabulation services for said survey data. The survey also collects free-form text responses, which are more difficult to analyze. Our aim is to leverage natural language understanding to identify semantically coherent topics in the survey responses, with special emphasis on sentiment analysis and tonality detection.
